The inspiration behind Vicuña Craft Beer is as unique as the beer itself. The design team embarked on a journey spanning over 5,800 kilometres across Latin America, immersing themselves in different cultures and traditions. This journey included participating in a traditional shearing of 10,000 vicuñas, a ritual that deeply impacted the team and influenced the final design of the beer.
Vicuña Craft Beer stands out from other craft beers due to its compelling story. The beer is carefully crafted in Peru by expert master blenders, using unique ingredients selected during the team's extensive journey. The beer's packaging reflects this story, with a hand-crafted label depicting the ancestral aborigen ritual of lama shearing, a rare moon stage, an unexpected volcano eruption, and the hand-picked ingredients that are grown in this particular place.
The design process involved close collaboration with the client, understanding the mystic surrounding the ancient Peruvian culture. The team's project manager, Ignacio Elffman, travelled to Peru to experience first-hand the land of the Incas, an ancient civilization known for its sacred sites established in prominent natural features such as mountaintops, caves, and springs.
The design team faced the challenge of encapsulating the mystic Inca culture and the significance of the vicuña animal in the beer's label. The result is a captivating illustration that includes various scenes from the team's journey. The label is a testament to the team's creativity and ability to overcome design challenges, making Vicuña Craft Beer a unique product in the craft beer market.
Vicuña Craft Beer's unique design and compelling story have not gone unnoticed. The design was awarded Silver in the A' Packaging Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to Tridimage's commitment to excellence and their ability to create designs that evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
